It encourages drinking plenty of water but avoiding alcohol, soda drinks and sugar.Sample Cabbage Soup Week Plan:
- Day 1 – fruits (except bananas) with unlimited amounts of Cabbage Soup.
- Day 2 – unlimited Cabbage Soup and all the vegetables you like, except peas, corn, and dry beans. For dinner, you can have 1 baked potato with butter. No fruit on this day.
- Day 3 – unlimited Cabbage Soup plus all the fruits and vegetables you like except potato or bananas.
- Day 4 – unlimited Cabbage Soup together with up to 8 bananas and skim milk. No other fruits or vegetables.
- Day 5 – unlimited Cabbage Soup and 280-560g (10 to 20 ounces) of beef and up to 6 tomatoes. You may eat grilled/broiled or baked skin-free-chicken instead of beef. You may substitute grilled/broiled fish for beef on one of the beef days (but not both).
- Day 6 – unlimited Cabbage Soup and beef or chicken and vegetables, but no potato.
- Day 7 – unlimited Cabbage Soup, brown rice and vegetables you like except potato.
The Cabbage Soup Diet has so few calories that you will lose weight rapidly. Most of the weight loss comes from fluids, not fat, so it is just as rapidly regained after the diet. This is your classic yo-yo diet.
