Many HCG dieters experience a temporary plateau usually around Day 28 to Day 30 or so. This especially happens to dieters who have been losing weight effectively and pretty much consistently throughout the program.

A plateau is when you get stuck at the same weight for at least four days. The number one reason for a plateau is water retention. It can be caused by not drinking enough, flying, PMS, ovulation, or sunburn in which cases it will pass.

It may also occur when you reach a weight you were previously for a long time.

A plateau usually corrects itself within a week, but should you want to take corrective action before the week is out, there are three remedies to kick-start a drop in weight...[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="12905" img_link_target="_self" img_size="full"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="10796" img_link_target="_self" img_size="full"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]Before taking corrective measures go through this checklist:

  1. Have you made a dietary or other error. Any gain of more than 100 g will be a result of a dietary error or other transgression
  2. Have you started a new medication, does it contain oil, sugar or alcohol?
  3. Are you drinking enough water? Aim for 2 to 3 liters (2 to 3 quarts) per day
  4. Are you premenstrual or ovulating? If so, take no action
  5. Are you constipated? Drink more water or add psyllium husk to your next meal
  6. Have you touched anything with oil in it? Prepared a meal and come into contact with fat or oil?
  7. Have you been socializing and come into contact with other people’s makeup by kissing, handshaking etc
  8. Are you getting some exercising? 10 – 15 minutes of daily brisk walking is recommended.
  9. Are you getting enough sleep?

  1. Is your HCG still potent? Is it being delivered in a therapeutic dose. Check by putting some of your HCG on a pregnancy test strip. If not, contact your medical practitioner or supplier
  2. Are you experiencing immunity to HCG? More than 30 consecutive or more than 35 total doses may cause immunity.
  3. Have you reached your ideal weight? HCG is self-limiting, your body will only yield abnormal white fat.

“Apple Day”

Begin at lunch time on the fourth day of the plateau and continue until just before lunch the following day.

During these 24 hours you can eat nothing but apples - up to a maximum of six of them. They must be large and raw.

No other food or beverage is permissible except plain water which should be sipped. Only take enough to quench thirst not satisfied by eating the apples.

Eating the apples will produce a loss of weight the following morning primarily due to elimination of water which will not be regained when you resume P1 500 calorie per day Skinny Meals at lunch on the second day. After that you will continue to lose weight satisfactorily.

“Mini Steak Day”

Start your day with beverages such as water, tea or coffee. Skip lunch altogether, but carry on drinking throughout the day. For dinner have 100g ‘dry fried’ steak and one raw apple. The following day you will experience a satisfying drop in weight.
