Apple Chai Popsicle

Ingredients - Makes 4 Servings

  • 4 Apples
  • 2 teabags (black tea)
  • 3 cups tap Water
  • 4 Tbsp Milk (optional)
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 3 whole Cardamom pods
  • 3 whole Cloves
  • 2cm Ginger
  • 4 Paddle Pop sticks


  1. Prepare a steamer with tap water
  2. Cut apples into quarters. Place them in the steamer
  3. Bring to the boil, reduce heat to simmer and cook for about 7 – 8 minutes till soft
  4. Put the steamed apple in blender – give it a quick blitz
  5. Prepare tea in a saucepan. Bring 3 cups of water to the boil with the teabags, milk, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves and Ginger. Boil for 1 minute
  6. Strain water into a bowl. Place the apple in the bowl and mix together with the tea water
  7. Pour into icicle containers with a paddle pop stick and freeze
  8. Serve when frozen

NOTE: 1 Popsicle is one fruit portion. Have with a meal that does already not contain fruit. If you add Milk to the recipe do not take any more milk the day you eat the popsicle.
