Baked Apple

Apples are crisp, tart, soft or sweet. Craving sweetness? Go for a Golden Delicious or Fuji Apple. Baking makes it even sweeter. Best cooking apples are Red Delicious, Golden Delicious and Australian Granny Smith (now grown all over the world).

Baked Apple

Ingredients

  • 1 Apple
  • Squeeze of Lemon juice
  • curl of Lemon zest
  • pinch of Cinnamon

Method

  1. Preheat oven to moderate at 180ºC (350ºF)
  2. Core your apple and cut the top off to make a flat surface. Place the Apple in a pyrex baking dish with ¼ cup water and lemon juice
  3. Bake for 30-40 minutes until tender
  4. Serve warm with a little Lemon zest and Cinnamon
